ABOUT
Melanie Shark is a Swiss-American artist currently based in London, UK. Born and raised in Geneva Switzerland, and beginning her studies and professional life in the US, Melanie is a global citizen with a passion for creating music and working on the business side.
Melanie releases music herself, as half of the duo "Paradeux" and ghost writes for other artists. While she acknowledges that "singer/songwriter" isn't an actual description of genre, it is the genre cop-out she finds herself using most to describe her go-to style. Piano and vocal based, her music sways between pop, jazz and indie rock. With a name like Shark, she always wishes she was a little more rock n' roll, but...she is not.
Melanie began writing music at age 13, after years of piano lessons (thanks mom and dad). Throughout her life, during high school, college, grad school and the working world, songwriting has served as her outlet for self-expression and reflection on society. She released her first full album, "Transient" in 2016.
